Your privacy, in plain language.

Last updated: June 2026

Parliament Paws ("we," "us," "our") provides pet-care services in Ottawa and Gatineau. We respect your privacy and handle your personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). This page explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

1. Who we are

Parliament Paws is a pet-care business based in Ottawa, Ontario, founded and operated by Dr. Margaret Georgina Saint-Laurent. We are responsible for the personal information we collect through our website, parliamentpaws.ca, and in the course of providing our services.

3. Why we use it

4. Consent

We collect, use and disclose your personal information with your consent. By submitting our form or contacting us, you consent to us using your information for the purposes above. For analytics, we ask for your consent through the cookie banner before anything loads. You can withdraw your consent at any time (see Section 9) — though withdrawing may mean we can no longer provide certain services.

5. Cookies & analytics

Our site does not load tracking cookies until you choose "Accept." If you consent, we may use Microsoft Clarity to see anonymised, aggregated usage (such as which sections people read and where they tap) so we can improve the site. We do not sell your data or use it for cross-site advertising profiles. You can decline, and you can change your choice at any time using the button below.

6. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us run our business, and only as needed:

Storage outside Canada. Some of these providers are located in the United States, so your information may be stored or processed outside Canada and may be accessible to authorities there under their laws. We only work with providers that offer a comparable level of protection.

7. How we protect it

Our site is served over a secure (HTTPS) connection, and we limit access to your information to those who need it to serve you. While no method of transmission is ever 100% secure, we take reasonable safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information.

8. How long we keep it

We keep contact-form messages and booking records only as long as needed to respond to you, provide our services, and meet our legal and tax obligations — then we securely delete or anonymise them.

9. Your rights

Under PIPEDA, you have the right to:

To exercise any of these, just email us at info@parliamentpaws.ca. We'll respond within a reasonable time.

10. Email & text messages

In line with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), we only send you commercial messages where you've consented or where we have an existing relationship, and every such message includes a way to unsubscribe. Service messages about a booking you've made are not marketing.

11. Links to other sites

Our site may link to third-party pages (such as our Google Business Profile or Instagram). We're not responsible for their privacy practices; please review their policies.

12. Children

Our services and website are intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll change the "last updated" date above, and significant changes will be reflected here. Please check back occasionally.
